This trip took us through the Tudor style, which was strongly influenced by Europeans, the Elizabethan style, which was inspired by the work done by our Italian colleagues, the Jacobean style that appears repeatedly in oak and walnut furniture, and then right until the Baroque period.

The Rococo

As time goes on, so did the style. Late Gregorian project can almost be described as leaning towards the classic style furniture. In fact, you will hear this period known as the neo-classical period. During this time, elegant shapes, such as columns, ovals and circles were used.
The eclectic or Victorian
The Victorian era saw a revival of the old style combined with modern and new, and as a result you can often find the combination of both classic and contemporary furniture.
As the subtitle of this section indicates, the Victorian era is also known as the eclectic period, partly due to its eclectic revival of historic styles. He was also responsible for introducing many influences between cultures, styles and designs of Asia and the Middle East as evident in the furniture and accessories.
During the Victorian era, there was really a dominant style of furniture, with designers who prefer to use a combination of styles that refer to different time periods, such as Tudor, Elizabethan and neo-classical, to name a few. In fact, without doubt, the most popular styles during this period were the Gothic and Renaissance Rococo.
There is no doubt that the Victorian era marked a significant change in the design, perception and function of furniture. In general a person's home would have been neatly divided into separate rooms, with very clear distinctions between public and private spaces.
The room was considered the most important and often was a room dedicated to the furniture show. This meant that the room was used both and in many cases, reflects the style and status of household head, such was the importance accorded to it.
Just as at the hearing to be important, the dining room would have been the second most important room in the house. This meant that the trimmer was often a focal point, as in the style of your dining table and chairs around the table.
