garden furniture and production ,furniture manufacture
Garden furniture is naturally used outdoor unless it is a terrace or indoor garden. Divergent types of materials can be used in the garden. However when it comes to use of wood as part of patio furniture a few issues will automatically crop up.
Multiple materials are used as part of garden furniture by the users all over the world. They could be steel, plastic, resin, glass, vinyl, and many others. However a few issues crop up when it comes to the use of wood as part of the patio furniture.
Major Issues with Wood Furniture
One of the major issues involved when wood is used for garden furniture is their protection. Wood is mostly vulnerable to moisture exposure and it can easily expand and contract due to environmental pressure. That is why most of the times when wooden furniture is used in the garden they are treated with components like varnish. Teak is most commonly used for manufacturing patio furniture because of various reasons. First and foremost among them is the fact that it is not vulnerable to moisture exposure as much as other species of wood. They are also extremely durable and can be left exposed to sun and rain in the open garden without requirement of shifting them from time to time for giving protection.
Use of Teak
Teak is most commonly used wood item for outdoor furniture. It contains silica that prevents decay due to effect of fungus. At the same time it is also resistant to most of the external effects like water and chemicals. It does not rot and also does not expand or contracts like most other wood species. That is not all. Teak is fire, acid, as well as alkali resistant and that is why it is considered most suitable for patio furniture. Using simply a type of oil you can resist adverse effects on teak due to any atmospheric pressures.
Use of Aluminum
Robust as well as highly durable, aluminum garden furniture is widely used extensively. However there is one drawback with such materials. Normally aluminum is covered with protective coats. Such protective coats can be easily destroyed by components like suntan lotions, perspiration or car exhausts. They can destroy the protective coating and in result there can be severe and irreparable damage to aluminum furniture and they will no more be suitable as patio furniture.
